Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has expressed uncertainty about the safety of paracetamol during pregnancy, referencing discredited claims linking it to autism made by Donald Trump. However, UK health officials and experts assert that paracetamol is safe for use during pregnancy and there is no evidence supporting any harmful effects.
RUK is happy platforming figures spreading vaccine misinformation. Reform UK has faced criticism for its links to anti-vaccine advocates after Dr. Aseem Malhotra, a former NHS cardiologist and adviser to US anti-Covid vaccine campaigner Robert F. Kennedy Jr., spoke at the party’s 2025 Birmingham conference. In his talk, “Make Britain Healthy Again,” Malhotra made unsubstantiated claims that Covid vaccines caused cancers in the King and Princess of Wales, could alter genes, and were more harmful than the virus, while also accusing the WHO of being “captured” by Bill Gates. Health Secretary Wes Streeting called the platforming “shockingly irresponsible,” and medical experts dismissed the claims as pseudoscience. Reform UK distanced itself, stating it does not endorse Malhotra’s views but supports free speech, raising concerns over the party legitimising anti-vaccine extremism.
