2024 General Election Problematic Reform candidates
For the 2024 general election, Reform showed a consistent failure to vet suitable candidates, examples of this included:
- Here is a list of 30 Reform UK candidates for the 2024 general election with a range of far right and racist views, many promoting conspiracy theories.
- And another list of 8 more 2024 Reform candidates that have made a wide range of offensive remarks online about women.
- Mick Greenhough: Selected to stand in Orpington, Greenhough has said “The only solution is to remove the Muslims from our territory”, that the “problem is the Askenazi Jews who have caused the world massive misery” and promoted the far right ‘White Genocide’ conspiracy theory.
- The party’s then-candidate for Cannock Chase, Paul Carnell, promoted Holocaust denial, further tarnishing the party’s reputation.
- David Hyden-Milakovic, who was associated with neo-Nazi groups and antisemitic content.
- Tony Stanley, candidate for Birkenhead, posted anti-immigrant messages and support for the fascist Germany party AfD.
- Trevor Jones, candidate for Bolton North East, who’s social media posts stoke anger against immigrants
- Ken Ferguson, candidate for Wirral West Constituency, who makes Islamophobia and misogynic jokes online.
- Sandra Daniells, candidate for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, who likes extremely racist content, promotes the ‘great replacement theory’, spread lies about immigrants getting benefits and supports Tommy Robinson.
- Noel Matthews, Reform’s North West Leicestershire candidate, posted on social media in support of Tommy Robinson and that Islamophobia is a made up word.
- Nick Davies, North Bedfordshire candidate, shared a post featuring London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Adolf Hitler, and calling immigrants an invasion.
- Michael Hearn, candidate for Richmond Park, has shared racist and fascist post and supported far-right groups such as Generation Identity and Britain Frist.
- The Swindon South candidate and presenter of the far-right media outlet Lotus Eaters, Beau Dade, was dropped after HOPE not hate revealed his sick fantasies of deporting “crying and shrieking” families and desire to shut down the BBC, Guardian and Daily Mail.
Pre-2024 Problematic Reform candidates
- Jonathan Kay: The Reform UK candidate for South Ribble, who previously stood for the party in 2023 and 2021, has made countless racist and Islamophobic statements about the intelligence of Muslim and African people.
- Nathan Gill, who was a UKIP and later a Brexit Party MEP between 2014 and 2020, appeared in court in 2025 accused of accepting bribes to make statements in the European Parliament that would benefit Russia.
